Our colleagues from the Universidad de las Palmas de Gran Canaria took 'Coasts for Kids' to the beautiful tropical island of Tenerife for the Science and Innovation Week in the Canary Islands (SCIC21). The main events took place during the weekend of the 6th-7th November 2021, and included a stall, information about coasts, and opportunities for hands-on activities to engage younger visitors.
Coastal scientists Néstor Marrero-Rodríguez, Leví García-Romero, Carolina Alonso-Peña and Abel Sanromualdo Collado (IOCAG, Gran Canaria) helped develop and translate C4K resources. The public reception was fantastic... and what a great turnout! Always wonderful to see both kids and adults enjoy science over the weekend.
Thank you to our colleagues in the Canary Islands. We look forward to future events!
